Ornithophobia

Ornithophobia is the fear of birds. Since I was six, I have been terrified of any kind of bird, big or small. And every time I tell someone im scared of birds, they ask why. I've said the story a ton of times, but you (my devoted followers) have never heard the story.

Once upon a time..... NAH!

It was a family vacation trip, San Antonio, Texas, was our destination. And Sea World was one of our stops. And being children of course we wanted to see all the animal exhibits. But little did I know that The Bird Show was going to change the rest of my life. (My side of the story - as much as I can remember) we walked into (well what looked like) a stadium seating thingy. And watched as they introduced the birds and some history about them. They then brought a big bird (at the time) out on stage,

stating that it couldn't fly (its wings has been clipped or something) then the stupid thing FLEW! It landed in our row, and on my leg! I started kicking it and screaming, but when the dude came to get the bird, they got mad at me. THE NERVE OF THOSE PEOPLE!!! The next day we went to the Riverwalk and there were pigeons everywhere, which only made matters worse. So to this day I'm terrified of any and every kind of bird.

Developing our Green Thumb.

Since the Bridal shower is this Saturday, we have been cleaning up the yard and patio. Including, put new plants around. But yet we still had this on big patch of dirt in the front of the house, by Jessica's room. So we decided to buy some flowers and plant it. A BIG requirement for deciding what plant to get was how much sun it could take. Since we don't have a lot of trees, the plant needed to be able to take on FULL SUNLIGHT. However, when we got home, we saw that they was shade in the area. Oops!! But during the day of course it gets FULL SUNLIGHT. We aren't really garden people, but hey we tried. :D

So the wedding is 34 days away!!! WOW can you believe it! So i decided to help out with the favors for the guest. Which are little clear boxes, filled with candy tied with a white ribbon. They look super cute! However, we started panicking trying to figure out how much it would cost. But of course, we were over thinking. Whew, now we can breathe. We think..... Lots to do still, its coming up really fast, i hope we are ready for it.

How did that happen???

So on Friday, March 12, I decided to re-paint the bathroom & finish up the kitchen. I was wearing a Big shirt i got from Las Vegas, and basketball shorts, so it was thought i wouldn't get paint anywhere besides my arms and my legs. Oh Boy, I was wrong. LOOK PROOF!!!

And the two colors ended up making a "V". I just thought it was weird.

Yes, laugh in all my weirdness. Still wondering however, how i ended up getting paint on my stomach. Curiouser and Curiouser.

My Pooches.

Ok, I'm 19 years old, going on 20, and i am currently the owner of two small dogs & one small cat. However, the cat doesn't seem to behave so i kick her out very often. (Bladder problem) However, I'm extremely in love with my two little dogs, couldn't imagine a day without them. They tend to keep to themselves during the day, but at night, its just me and them on my big ol' fluffy bed. I love it when they are excited, they start playing with my feet, then each other. So adorable. Chiquita (Chihuahua) is the oldest, had her since i was in fifth grade. My dad says she might not be with us longer, i think otherwise. They can live up to 18 years if they live inside, and she does. Only goes outside to do her business. I believe she has a long way to go. :D

Pudge (The dog formally known as Odie) is a mutt. No, seriously, i have no idea what he is. He wondered into our yard one morning, and i kept him. However, buying him tags and a collar have been hard. seeing as i changed his name, and the dogs play too ruff they ripped his collar. and Oh yeah! he is a little overweight, but adorable :D

All work and no play, makes Audrey a .......SMART GIRL!!!

So last week i had four exams in four days! WHEW! glad it's over!!!! The last one i had was Intermediate Accounting. I had completely taken over any table that i was on.

As a result, i received an 83+2=85 on that exam. Yeah a B, but hey i was the 7th highest score in a room of 45-50 students! SO HA! and I'm also the youngest, can you even "conceive" what that feels like. When you out smart people 2-3 years older than you are. AGH! As for the other exam i did ok. just ok. But hey this is my major! Not the other ones. Except for AIS, but i hate terms, that's all it was!!! "Give me calculations any day, or give me death" LOL.

I have now turned into a complete nerd, spending my time in the library studying for my other classes. But hey, good grades looks good on a transcript which looks good on a application for an Internship.

I'm still crossing my fingers. It's a long shot, but hey I'm glad i decided to do it. Now just gotta wait.

ooooo!!! and I might be getting me a Green Ford Ranger. (Just like my dad's), yes I'm a girl and i want a TRUCK!! :D Don't Judge me.

MOH

As one of my duties as MOH (Maid of Honor), it is to throw the Bride a bridal shower. And being a good sister and MOH i am. Refer to previous blog "A little to do before the i do's," to know some more details. Any who! There is a game that we are gonna play. Each guest will be given a clothes pin to put on, and if any of them were to say "Danny" (the taboo word) then the catcher is able to take their clothes pin. The one with the most WINS. However, try looking for pretty clothes pins, kind of hard to do. And those plastic ones just look cheap. So me being the creative person that i am, decided to make them myself.

I bought 100 clothes pins (maybe over 60 invites, not counting the number per invite), "Watermelon" spray paint, tiny paint brushes, and yellow & white paint.

We designated one to a "Ginny Pig" however Jessica wanted to try another one. (Not so easy huh Jess???)

HA!!! Well it is true. Out of the four days i got to school i have exams every single DAY!!!!

Monday: Accounting Information Systems EXAM
Tuesday: Business STATS EXAM & Multiple-choice online due for Intermediate Accounting
Wednesday: Marketing EXAM
Thursday: Intermediate Accounting Problems in-class

TOLD YA! An exam just about for every class except Individual Tax. Thank goodness.

So the Bridal Shower is coming up, 24 days to be exact. Lots to do. Cake is already orders, prizes already purchased. Place already booked (seeing as it is at the house) LOL. Now we just need everything else. I'm gonna see if i can go get the decorations and plates & cups on Friday.

Things seem to be whooshing by so quickly, I'm not sure if i can keep up. :(
I am however, looking forward to April 17th. I get to look all prettiful and I'm not even the BRIDE! I know my sister will look gorgeous! she always does, of course with a little help with make-up and what not :D

One more year and i will be out of COLLEGE!!! Yes. Not sure where i will go. But anywhere but here. Pudge, Chiquita, Erin and I will be outta here! whoa....three pets, i must be crazy.

Lots of new things to do. I can't wait!

Highway to Hell......

Do you ever have that dream, when your all alone on a dark road? I've been having it a lot lately. Its just me, alone, dark not a star in the sky. But you can see the yellow lines on the road so clearly, like a light is shiny on it, but yet, there isn't a source of light anywhere. Then I look up, and numbers start coming at me on both sides. Significant numbers of course, the cost of the cake, the cost of the gifts, my shoes, my wrap, gas for when Jess leaves, etc. I'm scared that i can't do it on my own. Then suddenly its a flash a white. Then the END. Maybe its the same light i see every time i close my eyes just before i go to sleep.

I think it might mean that i need some kind of support. I think i can budget. The only really high expense is the cake, and yes i know i don't have to pay that much (my mom has made that very clear). But come on, its my sister. I don't want a plain old sheet cake. Its a tier cake. Never had one.

I just got to budget right. Make a list of things I NEED!!! and some money aside for "Alice in Wonderland" 3D.

I think i can do it. I know i can.

I have a twisted-dark-messed up sister!!! Its true! Don't Believe me??? Wait until you read what i have to say.

The day was February 12, 2010, I received a text from my sister that Randy Perez was on the news. And of course i was curious. When i asked why, she replied that he was arrested. Again i asked why. "Involuntary murder" was her reply. So i was shocked. She then began telling me the story, that some dude was trying to break into Randy's car and Randy came out and stabbed him with a knife, and the dude died. Ok, i was freaking out by that time. "JUST KIDDING!!" is what she said. KIDDING?!?!?! That isn't a very funny joke :(

Just call me Ebenezer Scrooge...

So Alas Valentine's Day is almost here. and all i can say is "Bah! humbug!" In the lab i can hear guys talking about what they are gonna get their girlfriends. A bracelet, necklace, chocolate, etc. I'm not sure if its being single that's getting to me. I mean come on, I've been single before. No big deal. But not once can i think of a good valentine's day. The first boyfriend, i would rather not remember. The valentine's day after that, it was with friends, but still couldn't help but feel like a third wheel. The next, my boyfriend thought it would be sweet to ignore me the entire day then take me to dinner. Nice huh. After that my boyfriend was away in college and couldn't come down, so i spent my V-day with my sister and her fiance. Again third wheel. I mean i love my Sister & Danny, nothing could help that feeling. The most recent one i don't even remember. Must have not been that good. I'm not writing this to feel sorry for myself, i need to vent my feelings. What someone is all lovey-dovey one day then the next its back to fighting. What the Hell is that all about!! Right now all i feel like listening to is Pat Benatar or Joan Jett. Now there are two individual women who hold their ground.

So yesterday we were watching American Idol: Hollywood week! Tonight was groups. And one particular guy that stands out is "Big Mike," who was a soon to be father. I'm not sure what i said but Jessica starting asking me "Well how would you feel if...." then all of sudden she stopped and said "WAIT! you can't." apparently she was about to say "Well how would you feel if you couldn't be there for your child's birth." ALAS she realized that i was girl, and had no choice to be there. LOL. so you've heard of saying "Think before you speak"....well in this case Jess was thinking while she spoke. LOL :D

A little "to do" before the "I do's"

As of today, the Bridal shower for my sister, Jessica, is only 38 days away. Lots to do.....

First of all need a place to hold the party, CHECK. Guest List, CHECK. Game ideas, CHECK. Oh what about invitations!!! J/K CHECK :D

Yesterday we put in an order in for Danny & Jessica's Wedding cake and also her bridal shower cake. Jess want to coordinate the colors of the invites with the cake. but while explaining the colors to the cake designer, she said the colors would look too much like a cake for a baby shower. so we agreed on Pink, black, Ivory, and a light brown. So much to do, so little time.

We decided to buy a cake to bring home, first with was gonna be an almond flavor bunt cake. However, we decided to try the flavor i ordered for the bridal shower. An almond strawberry swirl cake with a butter cream frosting. I will tell you one thing, Its DELICIOUS!!!!

Sisterly love...

For those of you who know me and my sister, you definitely see a resemblance between the two of us. Ever since we came to being around the same height, people have confused us for twins. Which I'm not sure if its good or bad for Jess. Seeing as she is two years older than me. I'm pretty sure when she is older, being called my twin will be a good thing, because they will think she is younger. now?? I'm not so sure. Well any hoot, we have been called twins by a drunk lady at the bowling alley, strangers from stores, the florist, and the cake guy @ "Sweet & Tasty." Will it ever end!!! I think not.

We even think alike. I know .....strange. But after coming home from a long day of shopping for the bridal shower. While driving on Salinas we realized that they moved the "Little Redskin Raspa stand." (Not very sure of the name) ANYWAYS! we both pointed at the new placement of the stand, then turned to look back at its old place, then back to where it is now. AT THE SAME TIME!!! Just when i thought it was already weird. LOL

However we are a dangerous duo, when playing "Taboo" together. SO watch out!

Jessica Says.....

So....recently I've realized that i have a very odd sister. LOL and she suggested that i write a blog about all the weird stuff she does.

Ok about a week and half ago while driving back home, she asks "it's weird how toasters work, right. I mean think about it. It's like a microwave, but it comes out toasted like an oven." SEE!!! weird, right??? And today at dinner, i told her that her daisies were getting mold. So she cuts the mold off and now the flowers are too short to reach the water in the vase. So she starts putting them in her hair. And she started making the funniest face to try to see herself in the mirror. And right now, she started talking to the DOG!! And if you knew my sister, then you would realize that its not so weird. But the things she says to them. Like to Pudge, she told him that he only needs to worry when the light is on (she has a fetish of picking fleas off the dogs). And she is drinking her margarita, and off course the the dogs are curious. She tells them no, that she had a bad experience with the other dog that had liquor. Apparently when Bonnie was with us (may she rest in peace) my mother decided to give her some wine. And bonnie turned into a mean dog, demanding more!. LOL

Accounting.....

Hmmm, was it only yesterday that numbers were so much fun. When i enjoyed math so much! now its just accounting accounting accounting. Oh joy! However, there are some glimpses that i get that reminds me of what actually intrigued me about Accounting. I have this Excel project for Accounting Info. Systems, which i actually enjoyed doing. Especially since it was done in class. However i didn't let Young do all the work. A lot of the time i was ahead, because he had to answer some of the STUPID questions from the other students. I'm 19 years old, and I'm a senior, majoring in Accounting. I must be insane!!

Numbers, Numbers, and boy on my mind :D

Numbers keep going through my head, like cars passing by on the expressway. So much things to do, and so little time. There is still the bridal shower, and i want it to be special for my sister. Since these financial troubles have been really hard on everyone. I'm actually considering asking my mom for money. No! not from her, but from a loan company. I'm gonna get money back from the tax refund. Thanks to my dad. But I'm totally scared that it will come in late. And the bridal shower is in MARCH!!! I still need to buy my shoes for my bridesmaid dress. And pay to get my hair and make-up done. I really want to enjoy this wedding. Even if i am the MOH! I'm an over achiever after all, which may come in handy.

Ok, update about the boy in my life. Things have slowed down a bit. Still contemplating if its a good thing or not. I just hope things happen before the wedding, since he is the MVP :D. LOL. Or even after. I'm not really picky. Whats funny is that i can't help but keep out these two Chinese fortunes out of my head. From P.F. Changs "You will meet your true love unexpectedly," and from Lotus Inn's place mat for the HORSE "You will marry early". It just seems totally odd. I can't really do anything about it. Must wait i shall. and i will :D

72 days till Wedding DAY!

Nothing New (i think)

My life hasn't been particularly interesting. Kinda boring. Wake up, go to school, come home and watch some tube, go to sleep, and REPEAT. Saturdays are a little better, especially with the wedding day coming up from around the corner. I had been HOPING to start a new relationship, however, things haven't been going that great. We agreed to get to know each other, but things.....slowed down a lot. I'm still not sure if that's a good thing or not. I feel like I've fallen HARD!, he was already a close friend. I suppose i just have to patient. I'm in no rush anyways.

This past Saturday was fun! especially the morning were ALAS we got to play racquetball. (With Jessica [my sister], Danny [my future brother-in-law], and myself). I got hit, Jess got hit, and i LOST!!! But hey! i had fun. Hopefully we get to do it more often.

We had cake tasting last week (Thursday), and Jess didn't give a preference on what flavor so they brought us their most popular three. And from those three Jess and I agreed on a flavor. Its not too overpowering as the chocolate, and not too plain like the vanilla. It was an Almond flavor with butter cream frosting.

You may be asking, why isn't the groom doing this with the bride? well.....Danny works 2 jobs! And hardly has any free time. That is where I step in, being the M.O.H, (for those who are not wedding literate) Maid Of Honor, and all.

One particular thing I'm dreading, dreading, dreading. Is having my ex as the best man. I really thought Danny would've been like "OK, maybe my brother should be the best man". Since seeing as the current best man couldn't give two figs about the wedding. Must put on a smile for my sister and Danny. Any who, its only for two minutes total (i think), walking up the aisle after the wedding, and the reception. After that, FAMILY TIME!!! :D

Eh?

So this past week I've fallen ill. Not so much as my sister was. but ill nonetheless. At this moment I'm sitting at the kitchen table, my head titled to the side, with a cotton ball in my right ear. You see I've been having a problem hearing, and it popped up after my sore throat and everything else appeared. I didn't really think anything of it, but maybe i should've. I'm not sure this medicine will help, its Ear ache relief.

It got really hard to hear anything in class especially when my intermediate teacher has an accent. Boy was that hard and kinda boring i might add.

Tonight's menu: Mole (BLAH), soup for me.

She's a Maniac...a maniac

As anyone does when your late to work, school, or any other kind of event, you speed on the road. And that is the case with my older sister, Jessica. I swear that's how I'm gonna die, in a car accident. Yesterday was bad. Of course she was speeding but then all of a sudden the traffic on the expressway came to a stop. Scary, i know. Imagine being in the passenger seat feeling like you can't do anything. Just hold your breath and wait for it to end. I know my expressions get on her nerves, but hey i see the same the expressions on her face when I'm driving. but usually she is to busy to pay attention because she is texting on her iPhone. Even when she is the one driving. As i said in the title "MANIAC". It kinda reminds me of that song "Maniac" by Michael Sembello

My older sister Jessica had been sick for.....hmmmm....about a week and a half. And I hadn't caught the sickness, thank goodness because i just started school yesterday. However this morning i was going to go the the rec center since i have this HUGE break (5 hours!). Things did happen the way they should have. I woke up feeling sick, my throat hurting and my stomach feeling like it was boiling. 3 1/2 hours later i still feel the same, my voice going in and out. Its getting hard to concentrate.

This is where i would blame Jessica. But in reality it really isn't her fault. Because i had woken up once during the week with a sore throat. and did i take anything? No of course not. My first mistake.

However, my appetite hasn't gone away. I'm still hungry.

I'm a weird kind of sick. Usually people are so sick that they can't even move. You don't usually see me doing that. I'm an active sick person. But sick after all.

Taking medicine tonight. If i can remember.

Wish it were that easy. If anything were that easy then what would be the fun to anything. Having fulfilled a challenge is worth it all, don't cha think???? Those messages keep playing in my mind. What to do What to do.... Do i risk a great friendship just to have a relationship? But the truth is, i never really thought i needed a guy to be happy. Its true that i had my moments, but after a long time processing it, i realized i could be just as happy being independent. I wasn't looking for anything when we started texting. He was always my friend. But like everything in life, it progressed to feel a little more. Can you see my dilemma?

What if things end bad? But really how could they? We both have the personality of good, honest people. AGH! all the possibilities.
So many things in common, yet so different. Isn't that usually what people want? Someone they can enjoy the things they love but also learn new things?

All i can do right now is think. So that's what I'll do.

Tale as old as time.....

Ok so I'm pretty obsessed with "Beauty & the Beast." Why? I'm not sure. I like the moral of the story, that beauty is within. Over the years I've collected about the movie.

The BEAST doll i bought December 2009. I use to have one, but i suppose my mother gave it away. So i searched for it and found one. For under $10!!!!


I received the "Enchanted Castle" as a birthday gift. Its also a musical box, that of course plays "Tale as old as time..." (also known as "Beauty and the Beast"). And lights up with just a flip of a switch.


As a Christmas gift, i received the "Belle" figurine. With a scene at the bottom of her dress.


AND OMG! Donna High School put on a play, of...guess what! Beauty and the Beast! Yeah. Which starred an old high school buddy Julio Navarro as the BEAST. It was good, still....i wished i could have seen it on Broadway. You never know, things just happen. :D

I was testing my watercolors. However after the finished product, i come to realize that i liked it better when it was just in pencil. Oh well. I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH WATERCOLORS!!! Sue me! LOL

In November 2009 I applied for a Financial Auditor Student Undergraduate Internship. Today, I learned that I didn't get accepted into the Internship. I was/am totally bummed about it. I really wanted to move to the Capital. I guess I have to find other ways to get out of the Valley. My dad said "their loss," but is it really. Maybe i did something. I know i don't have any work experience but how can i get work experience when no will give me a job because i don't have work experience. This totally BLOWS!!

January 1, 2010. Went to see the movie "Avatar"

of course in 3D.

James Cameron really out did himself. It was AWESOME!!! Great way to start off the new year with an amazing movie. Bubba wasn't too thrilled about going late at night and wearing glasses. But to our surprise he stayed awake throughout the whole movie. (I kept checking) And plus since Christmas i had been saying i wanted to watch it, and all he could say was that the actress in the movie said it was a "chick flick," which made him not want to watch it. I admit that it has some chick-flick qualities but alot of action and science fiction. I still say she meant to say its an action movie that girls will like. But like i said it was an awesome movie, i wouldn't mind watching it again.

January 2, 2010. The whole family (Tio Pete & Tia Anna, Annie, Victoria, Robert, Tio Gilbert & Tia Cira, Anthony, Jessica, Bubba, and myself) went to see "Did you hear about the Morgans?"

It was an OK movie, one that i probably wouldn't want to watch again. Kinda like "All about Steve" a one time movie. There isn't much to say about this movie.

But the whole family experience was a great one. Played PICTIONARY. Jess, Tia Anna, and I totally won! It wasn't expected.

Ok in.........I think August we received a surprise visit from a stray that wondered into our yard. I fell head over heals in LOVE with him. He was so adorable!! I decided to keep him, so i was up to 2 dogs and 1 small cat. We dubbed him "Odie," but as time went by he started to get big from both height and weight. My sister nicknamed him "Waddles-alot."

And on one visit from my cousins to play Guitar Hero is when we discovered his new name when my younger cousin, Victoria, started calling him "Pudge." The name fit so well. So today I went to PETSMART and got him a new tag that says "Pudge".

New Years Eve

Usually every holiday is spent with me and my cousins locked in their room playing "ROCKBAND" (or this year "GUITAR HERO"). And the adults in the living room watching t.v. and falling asleep. This year was particularly different, my Tia Anna called me around 9:20 in the morning, asking what the menu was going to look like, and during that conversation she mentioned playing games, like Pictionary, TABOO, and maybe MAD-GAB. So i intentionally left my PS3 and Guitar Hero here at home. And BOY am i glad i did. This New Years was the BEST!!! We ended up, of course, helping out in the kitchen. But once we got away we headed to the living room the it got a little more exciting. Making fun of the "Newbie," it was HIGH-LA-RI-OUS!!!! Dinner time, and by that time my Tio Gilbert, my cousin Anthony and his cousin Gilbert joined us. Dinner was delicious especially the potato salad! (YUM!) During dinner we were discussing what we should do after. It was decided, we were gonna play TABOO. Now to figure out the teams. Of course me and Jess would be on the same team, and Victoria, Annie, and the "Newbie" would be on another. We were short one. Anthony and Gilbert didn't want to play. So we asked my cousin Robert. And Shockingly he wanted to play, which was a big first because he usually passes up on the offer. It was totally FUN! and we whipped them big time! But of course what goes up must come down (not even referring to gravity). We ended up losing at Pictionary :(. But it was all in good fun :D. Then it was time to wait for midnight. But the night went way better than i thought it was. The best New Years Eve to this day.
